Does anyone know which version of that song they keep playing? I know
that Ward Bond speaking, right? Is it listed under his name? I'm
trying to find it to download. :) I enjoyed Old Turkey Buzzard so
much, so...

Thanks

It's Walter Brennan. I did a "walter brennan suppertime" Google search when it
first came on and found some YouTube videos. Suppertime is a hymn so the video I
watched, and I think linked to here, was full of modern Christian iconography.

Next time you're on YouTube, check out Walter Brennan reminiscing about
'Old Shep.'

(Old Yeller's got nothing on Old Shep.)

As Tom posted first, it's Walter Brennan. I knew that voice
immediately from having watched "The Real McCoys" in the 1950s. I'd
never heard the song until LSDL picked it up.

Anyway, I just wanted to add that if you have iTunes, this song is all
over the iTunes store, as either "Suppertime" or "Supper Time." An
amazing number of artists have covered it, including Conway Twitty,
Johnny Cash, Jim Reeves, Merle Haggard, Porter Waggoner, Pat Boone,
Slim Whitman and Alabama.

Oh, right, walter brennan, duh. I knew that too, I just got the names
confused.

And yeah, I found every other version of it, including the Ferlon
Husky version. :)

I also recognized Walter Brennan immediately, but did not know where
that clip is from, so thanks for the info.

Dave's obsessions are pure genius....while I love "Old Turkey Buzzard"
(and the night he played it again at the request of an audience member
was great), the look in Dave's eyes and his smacking his lips at
"Suppertime" is freaking priceless :)
