With the Robert Blake trial coming to a close, does anyone remember when
Blake was a frequent guest on Johnny Carson in the 60's and 70's? They
were kind if like free form therapy sessions. Johnny usually let him
vent for 3 or more segments. It was very similar to his appearances with
Tom Snyder on TLLS.

Oh, yes, he was a great guest of Johnny's and was on many many times.
He was a lunatic then. And then, you're right, he used to go on The
Tom Snyder Show many times also. Tom loved interviewing him (as did
Johnny, I'm sure) because he was also slightly crazy but always
interesting because he said whatever he thought. He didn't care.

And, yes, I do believe he killed his wife. He was definitely insane
enough to do that.

And if he didn't kill her, then he paid someone to do it, which, to me,
is the same thing as having killed her himself.

And did you know that Robert Blake was one of the Little Rascals? He
had a lot of resentments, if I can recall correctly, over those
years... as well as the later years. He was a very conflicted man.

There was one moment in particular when he started breaking down and
crying, saying he owed his career to Johnny Carson because Carson kept
bringing him on as a guest when he couldn't get any other jobs. I think
Carson stopped having him on as frequently after that.

He was also the little kid in the bar selling lottery tickets at the
beginning of Treasure of the Sierra Madre. I guess he was about 15 when
the movie was made, so maybe he's not that little.
